The Knowsley Future Schooling team first started using EZFacility bookings and client management software back in February 2009 shortly after the first of its award-winning ‘Centres for Learning’ opened. The system was used to schedule and control both block and individual bookings, and to differentiate the booking charge discounts given to various organisations within the local community, and beyond, who were starting to make use of the many new and exciting facilities available to them. Over a 12-month period, the system grew from one Centre for Learning (new secondary school) to seven.

The bookings process was eventually supported by a centralised Contact Centre service to process the increasing number of bookings for all seven Centres for Learning from right across the Borough. The web based nature of EZFacility allowed bookings to show at the reception desk the second the booking was taken centrally. Remote access over the internet was also a critical component of third parties being able to see the bookings made at each site in real time and this included both the cleaning and catering staff and also the caretakers. The available detailed reports have also allowed the Future Schooling Team to provide accurate utilisation figures for all of the centres and the project as a whole.
